Vocational Assessment

A Vocational appraisal includes assessment of ability, aptitude, personality characteristics and work interests by registered psychologists specialising in occupational health and rehabilitation.

Benefits of the Vocational Assessment

A vocational assessment in conjunction with a functional capacity evaluation (by an Occupational Therapist) can provide an holistic picture of the client's strengths, work potential and vocational options as well as barriers to employment and/or need for retraining, thereby optimising the client's opportunities to sustain employment.

Process:
A Vocational Assessment consists of:

  1. Initial interview and background history to obtain an overview of medical, educational, employment, emotional and psychological factors which may influence employment.
  2. Psychometric evaluations of intellectual ability and aptitudes (personality assessment, work interest and occupational preferences, literacy and numeracy assessment).
  3. Written report with Recommendations.
